Best things to do in Jordan

Updated: Dec 12, 2021

Jordan is the Middle East's crown jewel. Jordan has remained a neutral destination while being surrounded by chaos and upheaval, and it is difficult to imagine the conflict spreading beyond its borders. However, traveling to Jordan is no more dangerous than traveling anywhere else on the globe these days, and once you arrive, you'll be greeted by friendly folks.

The Ancient City of Petra

Petra is one of the great ancient cities in the world, and it lives up to its reputation. Petra will take your breath away when you step into the Treasury square after a 2km stroll down the Siq valley's steep, narrow gorge. Petra is a fantastic destination to see during the day, but it's much better at night. When the sun sets, tourists go to the Treasury by following candles that line the Siq.

Dead Sea

You can float until your heart's content in the Dead Sea, which is extremely salty. Make a reservation at a hotel that is immediately on the beach so you may take a daily dip in the therapeutic waters.

Healing Mud Bath

The minerals in the Dead Sea offer medicinal properties, and many people visit for health reasons. Take advantage of the spas that use the Dead Sea's curative waters to provide a luxurious vacation.

Wadi Mujib

Splashing around in the waters of Wadi Mujib for a day is one of Jordan's most popular activities. Wadi Mujib is easily accessible from the Dead Sea and can be included in your itinerary while you are there.

Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is a fantastic area to go for a walk. It's a breathtaking desert valley with tiny gorges, soaring cliffs, and natural stone arches. It is the homeland of the Bedouins, who have lived in this region for approximately 12,000 years.

Feynan Eco-Lodge

The Feynan Eco-Lodge is a luxurious hideaway that prioritizes the preservation of Jordan's natural resources and wildlife. Hike through the reserve with a local guide from the lodge, who will point out ancient ruins, native flora, and animals and tell personal tales about growing up in the area.

Dana Nature Reserve

The Dana Biosphere Reserve runs through the Rift Valley on its way to Africa's center. Dana is a 15th-century stone settlement with a magnificent view of the valley. It has been transformed from a bustling town to an artist and farming community.

Jerash

Jerash is a great place to visit if you enjoy Roman ruins. Outside of Italy, Jerash is the best-preserved ancient Roman city. Jerash was an essential city on Rome's historic trade route, dating back 6500 years.

Mount Nebo

Visit Mount Nebo, where Moses beheld the Promised Land before he died, for a spiritual trip. You may get incredible vistas of the Holy Land if you look out over the valley.
