Maldives: Excusions 

We have organised the BEST activities in the Maldives to help maximise and enhance your experience with an itinerary that flows from one bucket list item to another.

The below activities are optional extras (plus more!) are organised and discussed in more detail by our local guides when we are on tour. Although most guests chose to do all of the activities, the activities are not compulsory and are all completely optional, which allows you to have the flexibility to opt in and out as you please.

Please note that all excursions must be paid for in USD cash directly to your rep whilst we are on tour. It is therefore, best to bring USD cash if you are looking to participate in the activities, as you will get better exchange rates than paying in Maldivian Rufiyaa, which is the local currency.

Whale Shark Excursion: Included

The whale shark is the worlds largest fish, and these gentle giants can be spotted swimming in the ocean's currents in the Maldives, most frequently in South Ari Atoll. We will set off after breakfast and spend the day cruising between the Islands of Dhigurah and Maamagili in search of the majestic giants.

 

Unfortunately, the industry is unregulated and numerous island resorts and guest houses organise their own Maldives tour for this thrilling adventure, so we team up with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Project to ensure that our guests enjoy the experience in an informed and environmentally conscious manner.

Shipwreck & Shark Point: Included

Vaavu Atoll is home to one of the most iconic and instagramable monuments in the country. This semi submerged wreck is believe to be an Indonesian Vessel which got lots in the shallows and never made it out. We will have the chance to climb on the boat and jump off into the water, then also head down below and swim though the stern. This is one of our favourite stops on our Maldives Island Hopping Tour and one where you will get some fantastic photos. 

Overnight on a Sand Bank: $100 USD (NEW to 2024)

Would a trip to the Maldives be complete without stopping off at a secluded sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean and spending a night under the stars. We head out in the afternoon towards a secret spot where we can snorkel with turtles then continue on to the secluded island of Vattaru. We will arrive before dusk, and enjoy. sunset swim whilst the crew set up our BBQ beach dinner and camp fire for the evening. Whilst here, we're will be able to have some fun with the drone and take some incredible photos and videos for all of our guests.

Scuba Diving: $65 - $90 USD

The Maldives is one of the best scuba diving location in the world, with crystal blue water, incredible visibility, vibrant marine life and no currents, there is no better or safer place to give it a go than here. There are numerous reasonably priced We link up with a certified PADI/SSI dive facilities where you may take a discovery dive if you are not qualified, or just sign up for several dives to one of the numerous reefs or unique dive sites. Certified dives are $65 USD per dive and Intro Dives are $90 USD per dive. The Maldives is known for its extensive variety of marine life, including manta rays, whale shark migration, reef sharks, and sea turtles. The pure blue seas provide excellent visibility, calm waters and no wetsuit is required here; the water is warm and pleasant.

Sunset Cruise/Night Fishing: $30 USD

At 5pm, we embark on one of our group's favorite activities: the Sunset Cruise. We set sail towards a nearby local reef, where the evening unfolds amidst music, games, and fishing. As the sun begins its descent, we being to return from our adventure, with the crew preparing a delightful dinner using the day's catch. It's a feast of fresh seafood, cooked to perfection, providing a delicious conclusion to our memorable excursion. And the best part? Dinner is also included, ensuring a satisfying end to our enchanting day at sea.

Resort Visit: $150 USD (All Inclusive Package)

This is truely paradise! We will have another opportunity to spend the day at an incredible resort, the only difference is that today, we have an all inclusive package. This means that the entry price includes return transfers, entry, unlimited beer, wine, cocktails and a delicious international buffet lunch. We will spend the afternoon exploring the island then end up in the pool at the swim up bar where we will watch the sunset together. The best thing about this is that you will finally have an opportunity to get up close to the amazing overwater bungalows!

Sunset Parasailing, Jet Ski and Stand up paddleboard: $135 USD (Package for 2 people)

The Maldives, is a paradise on Earth. With turquoise lagoons, white sandy beaches and palm tree lined islands, there is no better place on the planet to enjoy the view from up above and take in the countries exceptional natural beauty.

 

Take the chance to fly way up high in the air with a parachute whilst being slowly pulled through the archipelago via a speed boat. You will take in some of the best perspectives in the country and no doubt see a range of resorts and local islands from afar. This is one of the most popular experiences among the tourists and one of the most exciting and the best thing is that the price is for two people, so it is under $70 each for two people.

Water Sports: From $20 USD

When in Rome, do as the Romans do, so when in the Maldives, do as the Maldivians. When the favourite local pass time in the country is water sport, you will have no choice but to jump in the water and go for a calm sea kayak, cruise around on a stand-up paddleboard, try wakeboarding or skiing, jump on a jetski or if your looking for something a little more wild, then have a crack at a Jetpack! Most fun things to do in the Maldives are waterbed so pack your bathers and don't be afraid to explore the waters and try something new!

Snorkelling Day Trips 

If diving is not for you, snorkelling is an excellent alternative for an exciting day trip! The Maldives' reefs are so immaculate that you don't need to go deep to see a lot! Most snorkelling stops will give you the opportunity to see reefs with vibrant colours and an abundance of marine life. Snorkelling in the calm crystal blue waters, is unquestionably one of the top activities in the Maldives.

Indian Cuisine

Food & Drinks

Local Islands: Meals are between $7 - $15 USD, ice creams, snacks and soft drinks are around $2 - $3 USD and alcoholic drinks at the floating bar (beer, wine, cocktails) are between $7 - $15 USD or you can buy a bottle of spirits (vodka, whiskey, etc) for around $100 USD.

 

Resorts: Meals are between $15 - $30 USD and alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, cocktails) are between $7 - $15 USD.

We truely believe that the best way to explore this amazing places is with a group. The Maldives is full of Bucket List Experiences like swimming with Whale Sharks, Manta Ray and Turtles, explore a sunken shipwreck or sandbank, join a boat party or drink cocktails in an infinity pool at a five star resort, so why would you want to travel the Maldives alone?
